Take a look at our Terms and Conditions of staying in our Beach Huts or at Oyster Bay. These are there to ensure that all of our guests have the best possible experience when visiting The Bathing Huts of West Mersea & Oyster Bay.

Our Beach Hut Terms and Conditions (and compliance with beach hut licences)

Maximum Number in Booking Party

 For your own comfort, respecting the neighbours and complying with beach hut hire licenses, there is a strict maximum number of 8 allowed per booking group.This includes all adults, children and babies inside and outside of the beach hut.
This must not be exceeded. We reserve to right to terminate the booking if we find the number of persons occupying the hut exceeds the maximum stated.

Whilst enjoying the Beach Hut

Behaviour at the beach hut should be respectful and considerate. Noise should not be excessive, or disruptive.
 Please stay within the boundaries of the beach huts in order not to encroach on the neighbours.
 No loud music. Music MUST NOT be audible outside of the beach hut.
 BBQ’s are not allowed in the beach huts, immediately in or around the beach huts or on the front wooden decking of Winnie 541and Mersea 245.
 No Smoking/ Vaping, in or around the beach huts.
 Candles are not permitted in or around the beach huts
 We reserve the right to terminate the booking if nuisance or damage is being caused.

When you leave the Beach Hut

 We ensure that each Hut is cleaned and well cared prior to each and every rental and we would be most grateful if you could leave them as originally found. If the beach huts are left in an unreasonable condition, we reserve the right to refuse future bookings.
 Please wash up any and put back any used crockery, utensils etc. We provide all cleaning products for this purpose. Any/All litter and food must be removed from the beach hut and surrounding area and disposed of correctly, bin bags are provided.
Could you kindly sweep out any excess sand from the beach hut before leaving. Buckets, spades etc. should have as much sand as you can removed, before placing them back in the storage seat in the beach hut.
 Ensure that the gas is turned off.
 All front locks are secured, the keys are returned to the key safe, the key safe is properly closed and the combination scrambled.
 Any damage or breakages, please can you advise me by the end of your stay so that we can rectify the situation and ensure all is corrected prior to next booking. Small accidents, we can carry, but otherwise we must charge for damage and repairs. If there is a problem, please contact us during the day, so that we can try and resolve it at the time. .

Booking confirmation

 Full payment is required to confirm the booking.
Beach hut hire will not be considered confirmed until payment has been received.
Once payment has been made this confirms your acceptance of our Terms and

Conditions.

Cancellation/Amendment to Booking

 We offer free cancellation up to 3 full days before arrival. After this point a £40 per hire day admin fee will be deducted from any refund. No refund will be given if the cancellation is within 48 hours.
 We offer free amendments up to 5 full days before a booking subject to availability. Less than 5 days from a booking, no amendments can be made.
 Refunds or alternative dates are not given for bad weather on the day of hire. Please appreciate that the weather is out of our control.
We reserve the right to cancel any booking in the event that we are unable to let the beach hut for reasons beyond our control. A full refund or credit option would be given in this case.

Dogs

 Dogs are welcome at the beach huts (maximum of two).
 Dogs must be supervised at all times and must not cause a nuisance to other beach goers.
 Dogs must not be allowed on any soft furnishings.

Liability

 No Liability is accepted for any loss, damage, sickness or injury however caused which may be sustained during the time at the beach huts, to any member of the party, or invited persons.

Other General

 We will return any left items; it will be at the owner’s expense.
 Lost keys will be charged at £50.
 The person making the booking is responsible for the beach hut, and must accompany the party, and be over the age of 18. The booking is not transferable to any other person.
 You can arrive at the beach hut from 9am and it must be vacated by 7pm on the last day of hire.
 Sleeping in the beach hut is not permitted.
